WASHINGTON, D.C. – 2024 has been a challenging year for many of us. For another summer, we had to dig out from devastating flooding, landslides, and mudslides. Families are struggling to afford housing and other basic needs. And it can feel at times like our country is more divided than ever. But I also know that challenges can show us we’re stronger than we realize.
My team helped more than 1,400 Vermonters navigate federal benefits and other federal services, and returned over $1,340,000 back to folks around the state. I secured nearly $11 million in federal funding for community projects to build more housing, improve health care facilities, create jobs and so much more. We organized and attended over 835 community events and meetings, visiting all 14 Vermont counties. And we were able to respond to nearly 84,000 calls and emails from Vermonters.
Since I took office, I’ve introduced 24 bills and cosponsored 419 bills, championing your priorities of making housing more affordable, preserving our environment, shoring up Social Security and Medicare, addressing substance use disorders, reducing costs for farmers, defending our fundamental rights, and protecting our democracy.
I’m proud of what we have been able to accomplish. But I know there is still so much to do.
If you or your loved ones need assistance with a federal agency, my office is here for you. We can help you navigate Social Security, veterans’ benefits, immigration, federal tax refunds, and more. Get in touch with us by calling (802) 652-2450 or visiting balint.house.gov/contact.
