The afternoon will feature a performance of Lewis’ old-time, bluegrass-tinged ballads, accompanied by Biondo’s banjo style. The event will take place at Plainfield Town Hall Opera House, with doors opening at 3:30 p.m. and the concert beginning at 4 p.m.
The concert showcases a selection of songs from Spencer Lewis’ catalog, including newly interpreted versions of his best-selling instrumental series, which he describes as “music that paints the rural landscape and quiets the mind.”
Lewis will be celebrating the release of his latest album, “Of Spirit & Friends,” a personal collection of ballads honoring loved ones who have passed, alongside backwoods anthems celebrating life close to the land.
Lewis, who founded Quartz Recordings in 1983, has been a figure in Vermont’s music scene for decades. With over 120,000 units sold and more than 100,000 streams per year, he combines his best-selling instrumental series with the singer-songwriter work that started his career. He has performed extensively across the region and nationally.
Joining Lewis on stage is Pappy Biondo, a founding member of the popular jam-grass band “Cabinet.” Biondo’s banjo playing has been featured at major festivals such as Delfest and Grayfox, and he now performs widely throughout Vermont, including with his own band, “Pappy and the Pards.”
Plainfield Arts encourages concertgoers to reserve their tickets in advance. Those wishing to pay by cash or check at the door may select the “pay at the door” option when reserving their seats online. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door on the day of the concert.
