HARDWICK — The first deep winter community market will be held at Hazen Union High School, Saturday, Feb. 8, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This market is part of a pilot project between the Hardwick Farmers Market and Hazen Union School. The event will include farm products, student and youth vendors, live music, prepared foods, kids activities, free face painting, and a wellness corner. The Center for an Agricultural Economy will provide a free $10 voucher to the first 100 customers. The vouchers can be used on either grocery items or a prepared (to go) meal. Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards can be used at the market to triple the money through the Crop Cash Program, a program of the Northeast Organic Farming Association. No sign-up is required for anyone who has an EBT card. There is still space for vendors who have produce to sell. The same group will put on a mud season market which will happen at the same time and place on Saturday, March 22. For more information, contact Farmers Market manager Hayley Williams at
