Vermont Philharmonic Presents Winter-Themed Concert, Feb. 16

BARRE – The Vermont Philharmonic will explore winter themes in a concert on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2 p.m., at the Barre Opera House, conducted by Music Director Lou Kosma.

The program begins with Johannes Brahms’s “Academic Festival Overture.” The Philharmonic will also perform David Gunn’s contemporary composition “Heliolydium.”

The 2025 Jon Borowicz Memorial Scholarship Competition winner Sophia Lu will perform Carl Maria von Weber’s “Konzertstück for Piano and Orchestra in F minor.”

The program is anchored with Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 6,” otherwise known as the “Pastoral Symphony.”

Tickets can be purchased in advance at vermontphilharmonic.com and will be available at the door.
