NEK – Former Craftsbury Academy legend Jeff Davis and his Colchester girls varsity basketball team along with the Danville girls varsity team start their march towards the postseason this week.
Davis is in his second season on the sidelines at Colchester and will enter the Division I state tournament as the tenth seed after making a quarterfinal run last winter with a fifteen-win season. Davis won nearly 300 games and three division I state titles in two plus decades coaching the Mount Mansfield boys varsity basketball program.
The Lady Lakers will travel to No. 7 Brattleboro in a first round match-up, Wednesday.
After starting the season 1-6, the Danville girls varsity basketball team finished up the regular season last week on a four-game winning streak and will enter the Division IV state tournament as the No. 7 seed.
The 8-10 Lady Bears will host tenth seeded Rivendell Academy, Wednesday night. If they advance, they will travel to the winner of the Long Trail-Proctor match-up in the quarter finals Friday.
