MONTPELIER – As the 2025 Vermont legislative biennium picks up steam, the Vermont House of Representatives remains committed to making our state more affordable for the people who call it home. So far, our work has focused on smart investments in the Budget Adjustment Act and meaningful policy discussions in committees, all aimed at tackling the challenges Vermonters are facing: rising healthcare costs, workforce shortages, unsustainable property taxes, the rising cost of public education and the ongoing lack of affordable housing. These are big issues that put real financial strain on working families, and I want you to know that I hear your concerns and am bringing them with me to Montpelier. Solving these problems will take every Representative rolling up our sleeves and working together, and we are committed to delivering thoughtful, sustainable solutions that work for all of Vermont.
Right now, we’re taking bold steps to reform our public education funding system in a way that will provide the high-quality education that our kids deserve. We’re also working to strengthen healthcare and ensure fair wages for care providers, investing in sustainable housing solutions that fit Vermont’s unique character, and doing everything that we can to support our most vulnerable neighbors. At the heart of it all is a fundamental question: How do we provide real tax relief for working Vermonters while building a fairer, more sustainable economy?
I know that creating a future where every Vermonter has the chance to thrive won’t happen overnight, but I can promise you this: I’ll keep showing up, listening, and advocating for what’s best for our small-town rural communities. By working together, embracing practical solutions, and staying true to the Vermont way of doing things, thoughtfully, resourcefully, and with deep care for our neighbors, we are laying the groundwork for a stronger, more resilient Northeast Kingdom for generations to come. It is an honor to serve as your state representative. Your voices, ideas, and concerns shape the work I do every day. Please continue to reach out. I can’t do this without you.
