HARDWICK – Shane Nichols-Gordon was only 54 when he passed away on March 16. He was born March 2, 1971, in Winnemucca, NV, the son of Cathy Toland and Lonnie Gordon. He attended high school in Auburn, Wash. Eventually he went to Seattle to attend the Art Institute of Seattle, getting a degree in graphic design. It was there that he met his future husband. They lived in Seattle, then Mount Vernon, WA, Manchester, NH, and Hardwick.
He was a wonderful husband, father to his cats, crocheter, overall artist, gamer and a big DIYer, among other things. Most of his jobs were managing stores, his favorite being Borders. He loved to read.

Shane favored high-end things, like his cars (Audi). Admittedly, he didn’t care for the public or people, really, but to those he did like, he was loyal and committed, a true friend. His heart was full of love, a sharp wit, sarcasm, laughter, and sometimes bluntness.
He leaves behind a husband and partner of almost 30 years, Jeffrey Nichols-Gordon, cats Tommu and Danny, along with friends and work family. He is survived by his father, Lonnie Gordon, Georgia; mother Cathy Carter (Dale); aunt Linda Kasper (Mike); uncles David Toland, Phil Simpson and Monty Gordon. He’s predeceased by his cats, Maddy and Erik; his grandparents Ida and Moe Cochran, Don and Rose Gordon; great-grandparents Rose and Enrico Quilici.
We will miss his presence, his goofy smile and bigger-than-life personality. Forever in our hearts and hoping he is out there among the stars.
