CALAIS – On June 24, Vermont State Police received a report of a disturbance on West County Road in Calais. Upon arrival at the scene, troopers identified Clare Mills, who was found to have an active in-state warrant. Mills was found to be in violation of her court-ordered conditions of release and Relief from Abuse Order. Mills was subsequently taken into custody without incident and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing. Mills was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court- Washington Criminal Division on June 25 at 12:30 p.m., to answer to the above charges.
On June 25, at 1 p.m., troopers with the Berlin Barracks received a report of a citizen dispute on Lightening Ridge Road in the area, Tucker Road in Calais. Subsequent investigation showed Douglas Lilley of Calais purposefully utilized his vehicle to obstruct the flow of traffic and impede Town of Calais workers.
Lilley was issued a citation to appear in the Washington County Criminal Division on August 6, at 8:30 a.m., to answer to the charge of Disorderly Conduct.
