Maurice Marc DeLaricheliere

EAST HARDWICK – In the early morning hours of Sunday, July 12, Maurice Marc DeLaricheliere passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in East Hardwick. Marc was born on April 21, 1940, in Montpelier to Maurice R. and Dorothy (Branch) DeLaricheliere.
Marc lived his life devoted to service, community, baseball and the love of the land on which he lived and farmed. His childhood was simple, moving to East Hardwick in the early 1940s. He graduated from Hardwick Academy, Class of 1957. Immediately after graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy, a choice he was forever proud of. Marc was honorably discharged in 1961 and returned to the family farm where he lived and worked the remainder of his life.
Marc was a devoted husband to his wife, Doris, an amazing father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle and friend. Marc exemplified a lifetime of hard work and unwavering dedication. His greatest legacy is the strong work ethic he passed on to his family, along with a profound respect for the land and the livestock that were central to his life’s work. His lessons and example will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Marc leaves his loving wife, Doris, of 64 years; his sister, Ann; children Tod (Mary), Alan (Lisa), Lisa, and Lynn (John) as well as his grandchildren Rynae, Justin (Whitney), TJ (Alisha), Willy, Erin (Brian), Devon (Kaela), Becca, Jaime, and MaryKate. He also leaves great-grandchildren Monica, Carter, Macy, Leo and Claire.
Calling hours will be held Monday, July 20, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the des Groseilliers Funeral Home, 97 Church Street in Hardwick.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 21, at 11 a.m., at St. Michael’s Church in Greensboro Bend with burial at Sanborn Cemetery in East Hardwick. A reception will follow to celebrate his life at the Hardwick American Legion Post No. 7 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marc’s memory may be made to Caledonia Home Health Care and Hospice, 161 Sherman Drive, St Johnsbury, VT 05819 or to St. Michael’s Church, P.O. Box 496, Hardwick, VT 05843.
