A single vehicle accident was reported at around 8:05 a.m., on April 19, off The Lane in Hardwick. Pauline Parkhurst, age 86, of Hardwick, driving a black Ford Fiesta, launched her vehicle over a 30-foot embankment (at left). The car flipped and came to rest on its roof just missing the back of the Yummy Wok restaurant. Preliminary investigation by Officer Barnard of the Hardwick Police Department showed that Parkhurst had a medical incident. She was transported by the Hardwick Rescue Squad to Copley Hospital and was later transferred to the UVM Medical Center. Hardwick Rescue and the Hardwick Fire Department responded to the scene. Hooking cables up to the car is wrecker owner/operator Jonathan “Porkchop” Shortt of Caledonia Wrecker Service of Danville.
