The Daughters of the American Revolution History Essay Contest winner was Matthew Califano (third from left) from Craftsbury Common. He is a junior at the Craftsbury Academy and also won first prize at the DAR state level competition. The contest was sponsored by the St. John de Crevecoeur Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. DAR chapter contest organizers are (left to right) Susan Earle, essay chairman and Donna Hale, co-Chairman, presenting Califano with a certificate, medal and a check. At far right is Anca Rosca, Califano’s mother.
