HARDWICK — The Hardwick Trails Loan and Lesson program is in full swing once again. Every Saturday morning (weather and trails condition dependent) the log cabin behind Hazen Union School will be staffed with volunteers who will help fit the right size skis, poles and boots, and send you out to either take a beginner classic ski lesson, take a tour of the trails with a volunteer guide, or simply head out on your own (or with family or friends) for a ski on our groomed trails. There are plenty of snowshoes on hand for those who would prefer a bit slower tour of the forest. Return to the cabin by 11 a.m., to check the equipment back in and have a cup of cocoa, or extend the loan through the weekend to enjoy additional time along the trails. In case of extreme cold, or poor snow conditions, the Saturday session may be canceled. For questions regarding the weather or trail conditions, check Facebook’s Hardwick Trails before heading to the cabin.
