GREENSBORO – At 12:40 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 24, a raccoon was seen wandering on the centerline of Craftsbury Road between 4223 Craftsbury Road and Circus Road in Greensboro. The raccoon’s behaviors were not normal: staggering, not responding in a fearful way to oncoming traffic in both directions. The raccoon was running down the road for a considerable distance with no sign that it was trying to enter the woods despite traffic coming at it. This year so far there have been 13 known cases of rabies in raccoons or skunks in Orleans County. Four in Craftsbury and two in Greensboro.
