GREENSBORO – Greensboro’s Housing Committee will host a public meeting on Wednesday, May 3, at 6:30 p.m., at Fellowship Hall of the United Church of Christ to explore an opportunity Greensboro has with Habitat for Humanity. The meeting will provide information and seek volunteers.

Currently Greensboro has a shortage of homes available for modest income families to purchase and the housing committee is looking into ways to add local housing inventory.

Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity has been around since 1989 and has constructed 31 homes and is willing to partner with Greensboro. To take advantage of this partnership, local volunteers will need to organize and manage the group’s Greensboro activities.

Zach Watson, executive director of the Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity, will speak to describe his group’s activities and to answer any questions about what is needed for Greensboro to move forward with the organization.
