Record Breaking Week for Hilltoppers

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The two-time defending division I state champion St. Johnsbury Academy (SJA) boys’ track and field added to their lore over the weekend, breaking two VT state records at the Eddy Meet at Schenectady High School.

Former Craftsbury Academy track star Charlie Krebs, teamed up with Gerardo Fernandez, Nathaniel Bernier, and Andrew Thornton-Sherman to set a new state record in the 4X800m relay event. Krebs helped the Chargers claim their first boys’ Division IV state championship last spring and is now a senior for the Hilltoppers. Andrew Bugbee, Alejandro Orozco Kuri, Fernandez, and Thornton-Sherman also teamed up to set a new state record in the 4X400m relay. Bugbee is the son of former Hazen Union alum Andrea (Fair) Bugbee.

Krebs, Bugbee, and the Hilltoppers will look to make it a three-peat on June 3, at Burlington High School at the Division I state meet.
