Playpen for Dogs opens Aug. 19

ST. JOHNSBURY – Dog Mountain, Home of the Stephen Huneck Gallery, announces the grand opening of The Playpen, a dedicated fenced-space for dogs and their owners to enjoy and foster connections.

The ribbon cutting ceremony and reception will take place on August 19, from noon to 1 p.m. This project was born out of community feedback, underlining the importance of having a controlled environment, especially for small, elderly, or timid dogs that might find the larger off-leash dog park at Dog Mountain overwhelming.

“The purpose of the Playpen is to provide a safe and communal environment for controlled play at Dog Mountain,” states Friends of Dog Mountain’s Managing Director, Ali Ide.

It’s a place where relationships are forged not just between dogs, but between the community members who love them.”

To celebrate the official opening, the community is invited to experience The Playpen firsthand at the ribbon cutting ceremony. Attendees can expect light snacks and countless wagging tails.
