Pavement breaking away from the East Main Street bridge in Hardwick between Rte. 16 and Stannard Mountain Road in Greensboro Bend caused the bridge to be closed on September 9. Hardwick is getting quotes to demolish the structure before it falls into the Lamoille River. The collapse was likely related to the July flood event and the drastic change in the river corridor near the intersection of the two rivers just downstream which is causing the water to back up. The road will be closed until further notice.
