BURLINGTON – A Science Fun Day, December 9, will offer “out of this world” STEM activities for Grade 3-5 students.
Participants will have an opportunity to create, build and test as they engage in a number of fun, hands-on activities including flying helicopters on Mars, investigating alien genetics and building an egg-drop lander to deliver their “egg-stronaut” safely to the ground.
The free workshop will be led by 4-H Science Ambassadors, a group of high school students who plan and organize VTeen 4-H Science Pathways Cafés throughout the school year. It will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., on the University of Vermont (UVM) campus in Burlington.
Space is limited to 30 participants. Although sponsored by UVM Extension 4-H, membership in 4-H is not required, only an interest in exploring science, technology, engineering and mathematics topics.
