To the editor:
Dear Jules Rabin, April 18, 2024
I am writing to you with infinite compassion for your virtue-signaling on the occasion of your 100th birthday when you chose to celebrate by serving up the most up-to-date blood-libel against your fellow Jews. What a shame you feel you have to cater up lies and horror of your fellow human-beings in order to win their admiration.
Where are you getting your figures from? From Hamas, that accused Israel of killing 500 people in a strike on the Al Ahli hospital that turned out to have killed maybe 50, due to a rocket launched by Islamic Jihad that fell short of its targeted Israeli civilians and landed in the hospital parking lot.
On the day of your birthday, you should be happy to know- but did you share- that the Hamas-run Gaza Ministry of Health figures were revised DOWNWARDS, by one-third, for “incompleteness” of 12,263 of its previously given 33,091?
(From the Foundation for Defense of Democracies website:
fdd.org/analysis/2024/04/09/hamas–run–gaza–health–ministry–admits–to–flaws–in–casualty–data/)
Hamas never acknowledges how many of their numbers were armed fighters, estimated to be at least 10,000.
I understand you have been a longtime activist for Gaza. In the process, did you ever mention that Israel withdrew all its presence from there in 2005, that Gaza’s population has grown since then (never evidence of “genocide” except as a slander of the Jews)? Did you ever demonstrate against the slaughter, destruction of homes, and capture of hundreds of babies, women, children, and elders, from the “peacenik” communities along the Israeli-Gaza border, many of whom chose to live there in an ecumenical spirit, employ Gazans, and do charitable missions such as driving the people of Gaza who required medical care to hospitals in Israel? Have you ever demonstrated for the release of these innocents?
“Which man desires life, who loves days of seeing good? Guard your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. Turn from evil, and do good. Seek peace and pursue it.” Psalm 34, “Of David: When he disguised his sanity before Abimelech…”(king of the Philistines.) Time to “love days of seeing good” of your fellow human beings-Moslem and Jew. Time to guard your tongue from evil, Jules Rabin.
