MORRISVILLE – The hub of Copley’s Laboratory has a new look and functionality, with recent cosmetic upgrades and the addition of the Ortho Vitros XL 7600. The diagnostic analyzer provides doctors and clinical providers with information to determine patients’ diagnoses or treatments. The built-in technology provides faster and more accurate testing and offers an expanded menu of testing options, according to the hospital.
“Staff have been running the new analyzers for the past several weeks, and with the track system up, I expect we will be in full automation in the coming days,” says Director of Laboratory Services Amy Shopland.
Shopland said that besides general chemistry tests like sodium, potassium, liver function, and cholesterol, options include testing for infectious disease markers, cardiac testing, cancer, and more. “The XL 7600 does it all.” The analyzer tests small amounts of blood in a very short time frame.
