WOLCOTT – St. Aidens Chapel, located near Wolcott Pond off the East Hill Road, will host several acts throughout the summer season.

On Saturday, August 8 at 3 p.m., “Hope Cries for Justice,”  with William Parker and Patricia Nicholson will perform an integration of music, dance and poetry.  Parker (upright bass) and Nicholson (dance, poetry) are long-time collaborators of David Budbill and Lois Eby. They make an annual summer visit from their home in New York City to Vermont.

“Cummings, James, and McLane” will perform Saturday, August 29, time to be announced.

New England dance music and balfolk. The event features Vermont piano and accordion player Jeremiah McLane (Nightingale, Clayfoot Strutters) and bagpipe master Tim Cummings. The duo has produced an album, recently adding Vermont cellist McKinley James (Night Tree, Malvenn) to the mix, and they’ll be touring in late August, including a stop by the chapel.

“Joy in the Attic” will take place Sunday, September 6, at 2 p.m., with musical trio “Larks in the Attic”(Pam Bockes on guitar, Susan Reid on fiddle, and Linda Young on harp) joining forces with contra band “Joy Factor,” (Gianna Marzilli Ericson and Rebecca Weiss on twin fiddles with Henry Yoshimura on guitar). Larks in the Attic play a mix of traditional music, and frequently accompany English Country dancing. The trio will be spending Labor Day weekend jamming with the Massachusetts contra dance band, Joy Factor.

Admission is free, but donations are accepted to support the musicians. Space is limited so RSVPs are required. Reminders will be sent as event dates approaches.
