JAY – On July 15, at approximately 3:55 p.m., the Vermont State Police received a report of a crash involving a motor vehicle in transit striking a pedestrian conducting flagging operations for road maintenance on Vt. Route 105 in Jay. Troopers arrived on scene and learned that Colby Currier of Troy, operating a Red 2025 GMC Canyon, struck Renee Orzolek of Craftsbury while she was conducting flagging operations.
After gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses, troopers cited the operator Colby Currier for the charge of Negligent Operation. Orzolek was treated on scene by Newport Ambulance and transported to North Country Hospital for suspicion of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
