Circus Smirkus will offer a vacation circus camp at the ArtPort in St. Johnsbury in April.

ST. JOHNSBURY – Catamount Arts has announced a Circus Smirkus April vacation camp for children ages 6 to 18. Circus Smirkus camp will run Monday, April 24, through Friday, April 28. Participants can attend either of two sessions: morning session will meet from 9 a.m. to noon, and afternoon session will meet from 1 p.m. to 4 pm.

This April vacation camp presented by Circus Smirkus and Catamount Arts will feature a week of circus magic. Professional circus artists will coach participants in juggling, acrobatics, balance, clowning, and more. Children will stay active during school break by tossing objects, tumbling across the floor, forming human pyramids, and clowning with friends. No experience is necessary. Vacation camp will conclude with a student performance at 6 p.m., Friday, April 28, at the ArtPort.

Catamount Arts is committed to offering quality arts activities for children regardless of ability to pay, so anyone interested in payment plans or scholarships is encouraged to call Anne at (802) 748-2600, extension 109. Parents of participants under the age of 18 must fill out an online enrollment form after paying for camp. Space is limited, so early enrollment is encouraged.

Circus Smirkus is a circus arts organization that inspires kids of all ages to develop artistic, athletic, and life skills through the power of performance. Smirkus offers three programs, Residencies, Smirkus Camp, and Big Top Tour, that blend the circus tradition and contemporary practice to create immersive experiences that challenge children to perform and live to the very best of their own abilities.
