Audsley, Budbill Featured at Fall Reading Series

CALAIS – “Words Out Loud,” the Sunday afternoon readings of work by Vermont writers at the historic 1823 meetinghouse, the Old West Church, will feature Sarah Audsley and Nadine Budbill on September 24.

Vermont poet Sarah Audsley and Nadine Budbill, daughter of poet David Budbill (1940–2016) and Literary Executor of the David Budbill Literary Estate will read for the second reading in this year’s series at 3 p.m.

Sarah Audsley is the author of “Landlock X” (Texas Review Press, 2023). A Korean American adoptee, a graduate of the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College, and a member of The Starlings Collective, Audsley lives and works in northern Vermont.

Nadine Budbill

Nadine Budbill is the Literary Executor of the David Budbill Literary Estate. In addition to this role, she is a project management and fundraising expert with 20 years’ experience in the nonprofit sector, having worked with mission-driven organizations focused on gender and racial equity, social justice, and education.

“Words Out Loud” has been organized by poet Mary Elder Jacobsen with the support of the Art at the Kent curatorial team. Donations are suggested and no tickets required for the readings. Arrive early to allow time for parking and seating ahead of the 3 p.m. start. The Old West Church is located at 758 Old West Church Road.
