MONTPELIER – The 2026 Farmers Night presents the sixth concert of the season with Montpelier’s Capital City Concerts on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 7:30 pm. The evening will feature  world music with 40 regional musicians, featuring Portland, Maine’s, Grammy-nominated Palaver Strings, along with Vermont’s own Grammy-nominated flutist Karen Kevra, together with a chorus conducted by Richard Riley. The program is built around Estonian composer Urmas Sisask’s “Te Deum, Op. 37” for chorus, string orchestra and flute, as well as  chamber music works from the Middle East and Scandinavia.

The Farmers Night Concert Series is a longstanding State House tradition which goes back over 100 years to a time when lawmakers entertained themselves in the House Chamber mid-week while away from home. Artists from around the state, in genres ranging from classical music to bluegrass to spoken word, perform in the well of the House Chamber each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. during the legislative session. All concerts are free and open to the public. For the entire series, visit legislature.vermont.gov/the-state-house/events/farmers-night-concert-series/  Farmers Night 2026
