On October 29 at approximately 6:15 p.m., Hardwick Police attempted to stop a red Audi A4 on Cottage Street that had registration plates that did not belong on it. The Audi failed to stop for police and was operated in a negligent manner resulting in a crash into a ditch right next to 591 Vt. Rte. 14 in Hardwick. Hardwick Police issued a citation to Amanda Fuller, of Hardwick, to appear at the Vermont Superior Court, Caledonia Criminal Division on December 12, at 8:30 a.m.
On Monday, November 28, the Hardwick Electric Department reported a vehicle crashed into a utility pole near 389 Mackville Road in the town of Hardwick. The crash occurred sometime Friday, November 25 night, but was not reported to Hardwick Electric until Saturday, Nov. 26. By that time, the operator fled and the vehicle was removed from the scene. There was approximately $2,500 damage to the utility pole, which needed to be replaced. The Hardwick Police learned Cynthia Person, who lives at 389 Mackiville Road, and her brother Robert Roya towed the vehicle from the scene and hid it behind Person’s residence under a tarp. The vehicle was later transported from Person’s residence to an unknown location. The Hardwick Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying the owner of this black Mazda, the whereabouts of the vehicle and its owner or the crash.
On November 25, at approximately 11:40 a.m., Hardwick Police was dispatched to a report of a white car driving erratically on South Main Street. The vehicle, a white Chevy HHR with no plate on it, was found in a ditch on Mackville Road shortly after. Charles Bagley Jr., of Hardwick, was located at the scene. He claimed the vehicle was not his but it was later found that he did own the vehicle. Bagley was issued a citation for giving false information to law enforcement and to appear at the Vermont Superior Court, Caledonia Criminal Division on January 9 at 8:30 a.m.
