On September 14, at approximately 4 p.m., the Hardwick Police responded to the intersection of Vt. Rte. 15 W and Kate Brook Road in Hardwick for a two-car motor vehicle crash with injuries. Arlene Averill, of Woodbury was waiting to make a left hand turn onto Kate Brook Road in her 2017 Toyota Tacoma when she was rear ended by Marissa Olson, of Hardwick. Olson was operating a 2001 Honda CR-V. Olson’s CR-V sustained major front end damage and Averill’s Tacoma sustained moderate rear end damage. Both parties were seen by Hardwick Rescue and Olson was taken to Copley Hospital to be assessed further. Hardwick Fire was on scene to assist with traffic and cleanup.
