Hardwick Police Report

On Tuesday, May 9, at approximately 7:32 p.m., Hardwick Fire Department, Rescue Squad and Police Department responded to a 911 report of a house fire at 41 Brush Street in the Village of Hardwick. Upon arrival, the structure was fully involved with fire. The Greensboro and Woodbury Fire Departments responded for mutual aid. Hardwick Fire Department members were able to extinguish the fire and make entry inside the residence. They discovered one occupant inside the residence who was deceased. The name of the deceased is being withheld until a positive identification can be made through the office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the next of kin are notified. The cause and origin of the fire will be investigated by the Vermont State Police Fire Investigation Unit and the Vermont Division of Fire Safety. At this time, the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
