On June 27, while on duty for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Kulakowski conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 14 in Albany on a blue Saturn for Display of Plates Title 23 VSA 511. After further investigation, Manville Powers, of Albany, was arrested for driving with a criminally suspended drivers license and was then transported to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department for processing. Powers is due in Vermont Superior Court, Orleans Criminal Division on August 8 at 8 a.m. to answer to the charge of Driving with a Criminally Suspended Drivers License.

On July 19, while on duty for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Cotmoir was stationary at the Albany Elementary School monitoring traffic operating north and south along Vt. Rte. 14. At this time Deputy Cotmoir observed a vehicle traveling 67 mph while inside a 35 mph speed zone. The operator was identified as Christopher Jackson, of Covington, Tenn. Jackson was issued a citation and is due in Vermont Superior Court, Orleans Criminal Division on August 29, at 8 a.m., to answer to the charge of excessive speed.
