On December 26, at 11:01 a.m., Vermont State Police were notified of a vehicle stolen from the service lot at St. J Subaru on Memorial Drive in St. Johnsbury. Security cameras picked up an unidentified male walking through the lot just after 9 p.m. The male is seen checking doors of vehicles. The male located a customer’s vehicle unlocked and had the keys left in it. The male got into the customer’s Subaru Forester and drove off the lot.

Vermont State Police are asking anyone with any information regarding this incident to please contact Trooper Jason Haley of the St. Johnsbury Barracks at 802-748-3111.

On December 29, at 2:25 p.m., Troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Church Street in Hyde park for a minor motor vehicle violation. The operator was identified as Erik Wallace-Senft, of Woodbury. Wallace-Senft was found to have two warrants for his arrest stemming from a 2019 eluding law enforcement charge. The warrants were issued out of Lamoille and Washington Counties. Wallace-Senft was taken into custody, and after posting bail, he was released with a citation ordering him to appear at the Lamoille County Superior Court Criminal Division on January 3, at 12:30 p.m.

On December 29, at 9:45 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded for a single vehicle crash on Vt. Rte. 214 in Plainfield near the intersection of U.S. Rte. 2 On arrival, troopers located the operator, Eric Russell, of Plainfield, a few hundred feet away from the vehicle in a wooded area. Russell was showing signs of impairment and was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. Russell was also required to operate a vehicle with an interlock ignition device. His vehicle was not equipped with the device as required. Russell was processed at the Berlin Barracks and later released with a citation for DUI.
